Greensburg Water Works

The Greensburg Water Works Facility was built in 1964. The plant was built with the capacity to treat 1000 gallons per minute with the main water source being the Green River.

Operating Information:

The plant is a conventional type plant with two mixed media filters with a clearwell and clearwell storage of 120,000 gallons. Normal hours of use per day is 16 to 18 hours, with the ability to add more if necessary.

Different Chemicals are used through the production process to produce the best quality of potable water. Greensburg Water Works has a storage capacity equating to about 12 hours of use with the plant not running and is categorized as a Class III plant.
